Kuroki plays Machida Kana. She's a housewife who has a part-time job at a hamburger place. When she was a little girl, she had dreams of becoming a ballerina, and managed to also get a young girl named Ranko interested in ballet; but Kana had to quit when she moved away to another town because her parents couldn't afford lessons anymore. Kana never dances again, but Ranko grows up to be an internationally famous dancer who Kana watches from afar and admires......
