Story line:

In My Tutor Friend, a studious and unsophisticated undergraduate reluctantly serves as a part-time English teacher in order to help pay for her school fees. Her nemesis is a 21-year-old high school misfit who is the same age as her - due to being held back several grades. He's had a truckload of tutors and succeeded in sending them all packing.

Fresh-faced Soo-wan (Kim Ha Neul) is intimidated and horrified by Ji-hoon's (Kwon Sang Woo) boorish attitude and roughneck tendencies, but as the lessons continue, pride compels her to tough it out and she finds herself slowly drawn to the student from hell.

He, on the other hand, tolerates the tutoring in order to avoid being sent abroad by his rich, controlling father and losing his credit card privileges. Inevitably, adversity throws them together..
