In the far future 2076, aspiring TV producer Terada Jun with the TV Station, "Magical TV" proposes to create the ultimate kid's television reality program. She conspires with her AP (Assistant producer) Kurata and Bureau Chief Mishima to travel to the past to create a real "superhero" for children to idolize. Using the "Time Teleport" machine the threesome travel into the past and arrive in Edo Japan Cricia 1603. There they meet three local villagers - a metal crafter (Hosomatsu), A carpenter (Kankichi) and snack shop girl (Kaguya) and select them to be the "stars" of their show. Outfitting them with futuristic ninja costumes amd armed with an array of hi-tech weaponry, Jun christens them the "Cho Ninja Tai Inazuma" (Super Ninja Team - Inazuma). As "Raiden" (Hosomatsu), "Senden" (Kankichi) and "Shiden" (Kaguya), the three play out the role of heroes (albeit in a clumsy, dim witted and comical sort of way) in Jun's little TV drama. Their lives become complicated however with the emergeance of an evil battalion of "Yokai" who have become aware of their power and want it for themselves. To this end, they transform the trio's best friends into their worst enemies - fabrics shop owner Kikyoya Terunosuke becomes the evil Dokumyomiya, his sister Ito becomes the seductress Jiyoyokumo and the ronin Toujiro becomes the monstrous Kamakirki. Can the Inazuma team save their friends and defeat the evil Yokai? Will Jun's "social experiment" be a hit in the future?
